There are frog species where mother breeds eggs in her mouth and in some, even in her stomach. But in Surinam toad, hold your breath; the fertilized eggs get laid over the back of the mother where a layer of skin covers them. Eggs turn into tadpoles and then into small adults while this skin cover keeps them in place. In an amazing event, the babies emerge from the holes on the back of the mother. Imagine first laying eggs and then carrying them on her back till they become miniature toads.
If you think the lifecycle of Surinam toad is out of this world as eggs cling on to the back of the mother till they become adults, wait till you know about bot fly and how it emerges out of human body after becoming an adult. This is a fly that uses female mosquito as a vector and lays its eggs on its hind legs. The mosquito, when it bites human beings, accidentally drops the eggs on to the skin of the victim where they go inside the skin and breed, turning into larvae. When they complete this stage and become a fly, they make a hole in the skin and fly out of the body of the victim.
